3 tips for seasoning any piece of castiron cookware you own.

How you doing today? Good i hope.

So you wanna learn how to season your cast iron cookware, whelp your in the right place.

As im sure you already know, cast iron cookware has the potential to last a life-time.. IF and only if your able to take care of it properly.

Im the owner of several pieces of cast iron cookware including my pride and joy lol (my lodge logic 5-quart double dutch oven and casserole with skillet cover).

Below are tips to help you season any piece of cast iron cookware you own.

*1 Coat the inside of your cast iron cookware with cooking oil-

This is an important part of the seasoning process for your iron cookware.

What i like to do is pour a small amount of oil in my iron cookware.

Next i take a piece of paper towel and wipe the inside of my iron kitchen ware until the oil is covering the entire inside of the pot.

*2 Place your iron cookware inside of a 400 degree oven-

Place your iron pot inside a 400 degree pre heated oven for about 1 hour.

Now if your more of an out doors type, you can also perform this task on your grill.

Just prepair a fire in your charcoal grill or gas grill as you normally would.

Season your iron pot or pan and place upside down on cooking grate for one hour.

*3 Clean your iron pot and your finished-

Please be careful while removing your pot from your oven or grill (i have burned myself so dont make the same mistakes as me).

I find its best to use a cold, wet, thick rag to remove your iron cookware from either the oven or grill (especially from the grill lol).

TIP: You can also just wait until the coals have died out before removing your iron cookware.

Allow it time to cool of before you clean. Just take a rag and remove the excess oil (if any) and ash from the inside of your iron pot.

Thats its, your finished.

You see how simple it is to season cast iron cookware?

Please keep in mind that every time after im done using any piece of iron cookware, i always coat the inside with oil before storing no matter if im placing it heat or not.

I hope i have been of help to you my friend. Enjoy and have a wonderful day. Oh by the way, check out the reviews at Amazon.com for the lodge logic 5-quart double dutch oven and casserole with skillet cover.

lodge logic 5-quart double dutch oven and casserole with skillet cover review

Lodge logic dutch oven review-

How are you doing today? Good i hope.

I was recently given the opportunity to test out lodge logic dutch oven.

I have been using my lodge logic 5-quart double dutch oven and casserole with skillet cover for the past 6 months, at lease once a week.

Out of all the cookware i own, this is by far hands down 1 of my favorite. Why you ask? well im about to tell you buddy.

Here's what I liked about it: THE PROS-

I love baking in this thing, all my corn breads come out golden brown.

Did you know that using the lid in the oven will duplicate a steam oven? Yes sir.. thick, chewy, crunchy crust corn bread is easy to make.

This technique also applies to..

* Brownies (my favorite, have you ever had a rich, chewy delicious brownie?) and..

* Cakes. Just remember to remove the lid about half way through the cooking process to prevent burning.. ok?

What does the lodge logic 5-quart double dutch oven and casserole with skillet cover include?

In the box contains..

* lodge logic 5-quart double dutch oven and casserole with skillet cover..

* Long lasting, side handles on both dutch oven and skillet cover for confident transport..

* 1-1/2 inch-deep domed lid which also doubles as a great skillet..

* FYI: Its best to wash this cookware by hand without soap, with just warm water for the first couple weeks..

* Also comes with a IRON CLAD lifetime warranty..

Also this cookware is safe on..

* A gas stove..

* Electric stove..

* Oven safe..

* Grill safe..

* Owners of induction stoves, sorry.. you should already know the routine buddy, the lodge cast iron dutch oven is not for you. But you still might find great use on a grill top or outside cooker.

Ok, so what are some more pros?

* After im done cooking, my lodge logic dutch oven is able to keep hot food warm for up to 4 hours.

* Have you ever had cookware so damn versatile? Im still floored over the fact im able to cook burgers, or even french Fry's.. IN THE OVEN lol.

* I cant forget about Lodge, this cookware is so versatile, im able to use my 10.25" lid on my lodge 3qt cooker.

What I didn't like about it: THE CONS-

* Well, this is heavy cookware.. especially while using the cover. But oh well you gotta give and take i guess. The heaviness just means super durability to me.

* At the beginning you'll find that your lodge logic 5-quart double dutch oven and casserole with skillet cover has a mind of its own.

It hates sudden temperature changes and rather stay extra dry. The good news is as you put this effective piece of cookware to use, all minor issues will be eliminate!

THE VERDICT:

To sum it up, if you enjoy cooking (as much as i do) you need this in your kitchen, on your grill, and in your oven lol. I cant imagine not having this cookware at my disposal.
